Harrison High School has numerous team sports, and is a member of the Meadowlands Division of the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference, following a reorganization of sports leagues in Northern New Jersey by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association. Prior to the 2010 realignment, the school had participated in the Bergen County Scholastic League (BCSL).

The school is classified by the NJSIAA as North II, Group I.

Sports played at Harrison High School include:

  • Boys' Sports - Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, and Baseball
  • Girls' Sports - Volleyball, Tennis, Soccer, Basketball, and Softball
  • Co-Ed - Football, Cross Country, Swimming, Cheerleading, and Bowling

The boys soccer team holds the United States high school record with 24 state championships. It won the 2006 North II, Group I state sectional championship with a 2-1 win against Glen Ridge High School, then won the Group I State Championship with a 2-0 win over Waldwick High School in the semifinals and a 6-0 win against Metuchen High School in the finals. The 2007 team repeated as North II, Group I state sectional championship with a 3-1 win over Jonathan Dayton High School in the tournament final. The 2007 team won the Group I state championship with a 2-1 win over Arthur P. Schalick High School, the team's 23rd state championship. The 2008 team won the Group I state championship with a 2-1 win over South River High School.
