Harbor Freight Tools - Retail Stores

Retail Stores

Though primarily focused on tools, Harbor Freight did still deal in some salvage, and created retail stores to liquidate both the salvage products as well as returned merchandise. Harbor Freight launched its first store in Lexington, Kentucky, attached to what was then the location of the mid-west/east coast distribution center for mail-order. This venture was a success, and Harbor Freight began bringing in over a billion dollars in revenue. Since that first store in Lexington, Harbor Freight has grown to over 410 stores in 47 states.

Famous quotes containing the words retail and/or stores:

A free-enterprise economy depends only on markets, and according to the most advanced mathematical macroeconomic theory, markets depend only on moods: specifically, the mood of the men in the pinstripes, also known as the Boys on the Street. When the Boys are in a good mood, the market thrives; when they get scared or sullen, it is time for each one of us to look into the retail apple business.
    Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)

O Reader! had you in your mind
Such stores as silent thought can bring,
O gentle Reader! you would find
    A tale in every thing.
    William Wordsworth (1770–1850)
