The main campus of HIT locates on No.92 of West Dazhi Street in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province.
The institute's main building, or Zhu-Lou in Chinese, is a smaller version of the main building of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, and the majority of the buildings were built during the time of Sino-Soviet friendship from 1949 to 1959 when the Soviets were actively involved in the development of Northeast China.
