Hand Warmer

Hand warmers are small (mostly disposable) packets which are held in the hand and produce heat on demand to warm cold hands. They are commonly used in outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing to keep extremities warm and assist insulated clothing. Other types of warmers are available to provide soothing heat for muscular or joint aches.

Depending on the type and the source of heat, hand warmers can last between 30 minutes (recrystallisation) to 24 hours (platinum catalyst).

Famous quotes containing the words hand and/or warmer:

    Suddenly, she wasn’t drunk anymore. Her hand was steady and she was cool. Like somebody making funeral arrangements for a murder not yet committed.
    John Paxton (1911–1985)

    You waves, though you dance by my feet like children at play,
    Though you glow and you glance, though you purr and you dart;
    In the Junes that were warmer than these are, the waves were more gay,
    When I was a boy with never a crack in my heart.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
