Hallelujah Diet - History

History

The diet was first developed by Rev. George H. Malkmus, Lit. D. in the 1976 when he was diagnosed with colon cancer. The dietary regimen was taught to him by pastor Lester Roloff based on a strict, all-natural diet that originated from their interpretation of the Bible in Genesis Chapter 1, Verse 29.

Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."

After a year of living a new lifestyle and following the Hallelujah diet, Rev. Malkmus claimed that his baseball-sized tumor had disappeared. This miracle encouraged him to share the message of hope and healing with the world. He started off by writing the book Why Christians Get Sick (1996) and then eventually it led to the start of Hallelujah Acres.

In 1986 Rev. Malkmus purchased a 50-acre farm in Eidson, TN, which eventually becomes the first home of Hallelujah Acres.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

In history the great moment is, when the savage is just ceasing to be a savage, with all his hairy Pelasgic strength directed on his opening sense of beauty;—and you have Pericles and Phidias,—and not yet passed over into the Corinthian civility. Everything good in nature and in the world is in that moment of transition, when the swarthy juices still flow plentifully from nature, but their astrigency or acridity is got out by ethics and humanity.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

As I am, so shall I associate, and so shall I act; Caesar’s history will paint out Caesar.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

The visual is sorely undervalued in modern scholarship. Art history has attained only a fraction of the conceptual sophistication of literary criticism.... Drunk with self-love, criticism has hugely overestimated the centrality of language to western culture. It has failed to see the electrifying sign language of images.
    Camille Paglia (b. 1947)
