Hair Tie

A bobble (or ponytailer, ponytail holder, hair band or hair tie) is a gadget used to fasten hair, particularly long hair, into a hairstyle (usually a ponytail). Two kinds of hair tie are the scrunchie and the hairpin. Hair ties are useful in securing one's hair back to keep it away from the face and to give some style to hair.

Another term is a "hair binder".

A new trend of hair tie started to emerge in 2009 made from a strip elastic with the two ends tied into a knot. It is commonly referred to as a "Kitsch Hair Tie".

Famous quotes containing the words hair and/or tie:

... my mother ... piled up her hair and went out to teach in a one-room school, mountain children little and big alike. The first day, some fathers came along to see if she could whip their children, some who were older than she. She told the children that she did intend to whip them if they became unruly and refused to learn, and invited the fathers to stay if they liked and she’d be able to whip them too. Having been thus tried out, she was a great success with them after that.
    Eudora Welty (b. 1909)

Not because Socrates has said it, but because it is really in my nature, and perhaps a little more than it should be, I look upon all humans as my fellow-citizens, and would embrace a Pole as I would a Frenchman, subordinating this national tie to the common and universal one.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)
