Security
By using a Hack Trapper, a user can discover and subsequently report an unauthorized access event to the ISP of the connecting machine, as well as to the appropriate regulatory or enforcement agency. This way the connecting machine will be less likely to try to access or interfere with the system in the future. However, some have suggested that a Hack Trapper makes a computer less secure by making it more visible to other online entities.

Famous quotes containing the word security:
“The most disgusting cad in the world is the man who, on grounds of decorum and morality, avoids the game of love. He is one who puts his own ease and security above the most laudable of philanthropies.”
—H.L. (Henry Lewis)
“Thanks to recent trends in the theory of knowledge, history is now better aware of its own worth and unassailability than it formerly was. It is precisely in its inexact character, in the fact that it can never be normative and does not have to be, that its security lies.”
—Johan Huizinga (18721945)
“It seems to me that our three basic needs, for food and security and love, are so mixed and mingled and entwined that we cannot straightly think of one without the others. So it happens that when I write of hunger, I am really writing about love and the hunger for it, and warmth and the love of it and the hunger for it ... and then the warmth and richness and fine reality of hunger satisfied ... and it is all one.”
—M.F.K. Fisher (b. 1908)
