Ha Sheket She Nish'ar

"HaSheket SheNish'ar" (Hebrew: השקט שנשאר‎, lit. The Silence that Remains) was the Israeli entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, performed in Hebrew and English by Shiri Maimon. The song was written by Eyal Shahar and Pini Aharonbayev and Ben Green.

The Israeli pre-selection took place in Jerusalem in March 2005. Among 14 songs, Maimon's song "HaSheket SheNish'ar" was chosen by the television viewing audience via televoting, combined with 5 juries' voting. With 116 points, Maimon was announced as the official Israeli representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kiev. The song is classified as a power ballad.

The song deals with Maimon's realisation that her lover has been unfaithful and her decision to leave him as a result. She seems unsure about what to do next and muses on "the silence that remains".

As Israel had not qualified for the final at the 2004 Contest, the song was first performed in the semi-final. Here, it was performed seventh (following Monaco's Lise Darly with "Tout De Moi" and preceding Belarus' Angelica Agurbash with "Love Me Tonight"). At the close of voting, it had received 158 points, placing 7th in the 25-strong field and qualifying for the final.

In the final, it was performed eleventh (following Spain's Son de Sol with "Brujería" and preceding Serbia & Montenegro's No Name with "Zauvijek moja"). At the close of voting, it had received 154 points, placing 4th in a field of 24 and guaranteeing Israel a berth in the final in the next Contest. Maimon went on to record the song in English under the title "Time to Say Goodbye".

It was succeeded as Israeli representative at the 2006 Contest by Eddie Butler with "Together We Are One".

The song was covered by Eden Amzaleg in Kokhav Nolad on its 5th season.
