Gus Reyes

Gus Reyes (born June 27, 1977 as Gustavo Alberto Ramirez Reyes) is a Mexican musician and composer primarily focused on film scores. Reyes began his studies in music at the age of 8. His father, Jesus Gustavo Ramírez Avila, student of the great guitar players Manuel López Ramos (México 1929-2006) and Andrés Segovia (Spain, 1893–1987), was his first teacher in music. He studied in many important music institutions ending with his application to the "Cardenal Miranda Institute", where Reyes spent most of his youth studying music. Great Mexican teachers had been part of his education, like Xavier Gonzalez Texcucano (Composer, Orchestral and Choral Director), Luis Armando Elias Chain (Composer), Philippe H. Tolon (Lead Violinist), Juan Trigos (Composer), Jorge Torres Sáenz (Composer), Jaime Uribe (Composer and Musical analyst), Eduardo Gamboa (Composer) among others. Reyes studied the careers of Composer, Orchestral and Choral Conduction and Musicology.
