Gurgaon District

Gurgaon district (Hindi: गुड़गांव ज़िला) is one of the 21 districts of Haryana state in northern India. Gurgaon city is the administrative headquarters of the district. The population is 1,660,289 (Hindus 1,026,542, Muslims 617,918 {37.21%}, Sikhs 6,672). (This data includes tehsils which are now part of Mewat district).

It is the southern-most district of Haryana. On its north, it is bounded by the district of Jhajjer and the Union Territory of Delhi. Faridabad district lies to its east. On its south, the district shares boundaries with the states of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. To its west lies the Rewari district in the State of Haryana.
