History
The album sold only 100,000 copies on its initial release. It made Kid Rock one of the two biggest rap stars in Detroit in 1990, along with the rapper Esham. However, following the release of the album, Kid Rock's career had begun to decline, and he did not make another album until the release of The Polyfuze Method in 1993, which had a more rap rock-oriented sound.
A college radio station, WSUC-FM 90.5 in Cortland, New York, was fined $23,750 by the FCC for broadcasting an uncensored version of this album's song "Yo-Da-Lin in the Valley". Jive Records dropped Kid Rock soon afterwards. Kid Rock re-released the album on his own label, Top Dog Records.
