Grilled Pizza

Grilled pizza is created by taking a fairly thin pizza dough, placing it directly over the coals of a grill, then turning it over once the bottom has baked, adding sauce, cheese and toppings to the cooked side. Toppings are generally as thin as possible to ensure that they heat through. Thicker toppings, such as sausage or peppers, may be precooked before placing on the pizza; it is not uncommon to add garlic, herbs, or other ingredients to the crust to maximize the flavor of the dish.

Famous quotes containing the words grilled and/or pizza:

When I develop my recipes I always look for ways to create what I call the Big Taste. While I enjoy eating simple grilled foods, what interests me when I cook are dishes with a taste that is fully dimensional.

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore.
