Other Activities
The Greenwood High School Golden Eagle Marching Band has been a SCBDA AAAA State Championship Finalist in 2001 (10th place), 2002 (8th), 2003 (8th), 2004 (10th), 2005 (7th) and 2010 (6th). The band has also had much success over the years including many Grand Championships and top Percussion, Hornline, Colorguard, and Drum Major awards at numerous local and regional marching band competitions in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. The band program also includes a Symphonic Band in the Spring that has consistently received Superiors at SCBDA Concert Band Festival. The Greenwood Symphonic Band has also performed and earned numerous performance awards in festivals across the country. At the Dixie Classic 2003 in Richmond, VA the band received a Superior rating and earned the Honor Award and Outstanding Woodwinds for the festival. The band attended the Dixie Classic National Adjudicators Invitational (NAI) in St. Louis, MO in 2004. In 2005 the band attended Festival! in New York City, and in 2006 Dixie Classic NAI in Washington, DC.
The Greenwood High School Choral program has also had success in recent years under the direction of Mrs. Gina Jolly and Mrs. Erin Phillips. The program includes an Advanced Chorus, Women's Choir, Eagle Singers, Freshman Choir, and a Show Choir. The choirs compete at local and state festivals. The program has many singers audition and place in the SC All-State Choirs every year.
