Green Lantern (Six Flags Great Adventure)

Green Lantern (Six Flags Great Adventure)

Green Lantern is a steel Bolliger & Mabillard stand-up roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure. It was originally constructed at Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky in 1997, where it was known as Chang. Upon opening in 1997, it set the world records for this type of coaster in height, drop, speed, length, and number of inversions. It would later be eclipsed by Riddler’s Revenge, which opened at Six Flags Magic Mountain a year later. The ride was removed in 2009, and debuted at Six Flags Great Adventure in 2011.

Famous quotes containing the words green, lantern and/or flags:

But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted
Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover!
A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e’er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!
    Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772–1834)

    God shall be my hope,
My stay, my guide, and lantern to my feet.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

The flags are natures newly found.
Rifles grow sharper on the sight.
There is a rumble of autumnal marching,
From which no soft sleeve relieves us.
    Fate is the present desperado.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)
