Famous quotes containing the words grand, egyptian and/or museum:
“There arent any good, brave causes left. If the big bang does come, and we all get killed off, it wont be in aid of the old-fashioned grand design. Itll just be for the Brave New-nothing-very-much-thank-you. About as pointless and inglorious as stepping in front of a bus. No, theres nothing left for it, me boy, but to let yourself be butchered by the women.”
—John Osborne (19291994)
“...the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife comes to them.”
—Bible: Hebrew, Exodus 1:19.
Egyptian midwives to Pharaoh.
“To look at and properly appreciate the British Museum is the work of a lifetime.”
—M. E. W. Sherwood (18261903)
