Grand Concourse (St. John's)

The Grand Concourse is an integrated walkway system for the cities of St. John's and Mount Pearl and the town of Paradise in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

It has over 120 kilometers (75 mi) of walkways linking every major park, river, pond, and green space in the three municipalities. The Grand Concourse was first developed through the generosity of the Johnson Family Foundation with Paul Johnson as its president and founder.

Famous quotes containing the word grand:

The great object of Education should be commensurate with the object of life. It should be a moral one; to teach self-trust: to inspire the youthful man with an interest in himself; with a curiosity touching his own nature; to acquaint him with the resources of his mind, and to teach him that there is all his strength, and to inflame him with a piety towards the Grand Mind in which he lives. Thus would education conspire with the Divine Providence.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
