Block IIIA Satellites
The Block IIIA series is the next-generation of GPS satellites, incorporating new signals and broadcasting at higher power levels. In May 2008, Lockheed Martin was awarded a contract for the first two Block III satellites. The contract included options for as many as 10 more. Up to 32 satellites with a design life of 15 years will be procured.
