Gothenburg Commuter Rail - Lines

Lines

There are two lines in the Gothenburg commuter rail system. One between Gothenburg and Alingsås, the second between Gothenburg and Kungsbacka.

The commuter trains to Alingsås have been going since 1960. Commuter trains to Kungsbacka started to go in 1992, when the railway had been rebuilt as double track.

The railway to Trollhättan is being rebuilt as a double track railway, to be completed in 2012, when both a new commuter rail connection to Älvängen and a denser regional schedule to Trollhättan will be introduced.

Famous quotes containing the word lines:

Indeed, I believe that in the future, when we shall have seized again, as we will seize if we are true to ourselves, our own fair part of commerce upon the sea, and when we shall have again our appropriate share of South American trade, that these railroads from St. Louis, touching deep harbors on the gulf, and communicating there with lines of steamships, shall touch the ports of South America and bring their tribute to you.
    Benjamin Harrison (1833–1901)

His more memorable passages are as naturally bright as gleams of sunshine in misty weather. Nature furnishes him not only with words, but with stereotyped lines and sentences from her mint.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

When the rose reigns, and locks with ointments shine,
Let rigid Cato read these lines of mine.
    Robert Herrick (1591–1674)
