While all three other Beatles had contributed to Ringo, only John Lennon contributed to Goodnight Vienna. Besides writing and playing piano on the title track, Lennon also suggested Starr cover The Platters' hit "Only You (And You Alone)" and provided the acoustic guitar. Lennon's friend Elton John also contributed a track.
