Good Morning Spider is the second album by Sparklehorse.
The album’s title came from a sound that Sparklehorse singer-songwriter Mark Linkous once heard from an old pump organ that reminded him of a spider building a web. He was later told about an old folk superstition in which seeing a spider in the morning is an omen for a sad day.

Famous quotes containing the words morning and/or spider:
“I had a long day’s work, starting at eight in the morning and ending after nine at night, but in those days [we] ... did not think of our day in terms of hours. We liked our work, we were proud to do it well, and I am afraid that we were very, very happy.”
—Louie Mayer (b. c. 1914)
“The spider spinning his web for the unwary fly. The blood is the life, Mr. Renfield.”
—Garrett Fort (1900–1945)
