Gonna Raise Hell

Gonna Raise Hell

"Gonna Raise Hell" is a song written by Rick Nielsen and originally released on Cheap Trick's 1979 album Dream Police. It was reputed to have been about the Jonestown massacre, but was actually written prior to that event. Cheap Trick's version contains a backwards message that "You know Satan holds the keys." "Gonna Raise Hell" was used in an episode of the TV show Freaks and Geeks. It has also been covered by Sam Kinison.

Famous quotes containing the words gonna, raise and/or hell:

    You gonna let a john like that steal her away from you ‘cause he’s got a little more jack?
    James Gleason (1886–1959)

    What in me is dark
    Illumine, what is low raise and support;
    That to the highth of this great Argument
    I may assert Eternal Providence,
    And justifie the wayes of God to men.
    John Milton (1608–1674)

    What a hell of an economic system! Some are replete with everything while others, whose stomachs are no less demanding, whose hunger is just as recurrent, have nothing to bite on. The worst of it is the constrained posture need puts you in. The needy man does not walk like the rest; he skips, slithers, twists, crawls.
    Denis Diderot (1713–1784)
