Extreme Golf
Extreme golf is a variation of the game played on environmentally sustainable alternatives to traditional courses. A cross between hiking and golf, the course layout exposes players to a wide range of natural obstacles and challenging terrain.
Based on the growing popularity of the U.X. Open Alternative Golf Tournament, the extreme golf course features un-mowed meadows and forest instead of fairways, with "goals" scored on temporary greens (a circle 20 feet, or 6 metres, in diameter).

Famous quotes containing the words extreme and/or golf:
“Surrender is a perfectly acceptable alternative in extreme circumstances.”
—Leigh Brackett (19151978)
“My attitude toward punctuation is that it ought to be as conventional as possible. The game of golf would lose a good deal if croquet mallets and billiard cues were allowed on the putting green. You ought to be able to show that you can do it a good deal better than anyone else with the regular tools before you have a license to bring in your own improvements.”
—Ernest Hemingway (18991961)
