Expansions

  • September 1, 2010 brought the first venture into Ontario. Norwesto Communications was sold to Golden West, bringing CKQV-FM in Vermilion Bay into the company's portfolio.
  • On September 19, 2011, Golden West applied to operate a new FM radio station in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. If approved, the new station will operate a classic rock format at 106.7 MHz, with 100,000 watts. This application was approved on February 17, 2012.
  • On January 10, 2012, the CRTC approved Golden West's application to operate a new English-language FM radio station at Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The new station will operate at 107.9 MHz.
