Green Initiative
The Centre's environmental practices have been recognised by environmental management program, EarthCheck. In 2010 the GCCEC re-achieved the EarthCheck Silver Certification, making it a leader among Australia’s sustainable conferencing venues and a benchmark operator in the MICE sector.
The Centre’s environmental policy is driven by a volunteer committee of dedicated employees, called the Project Green Committee. With the assistance of Environmental Management Group, Ecosure, the past twelve months has seen the Centre successfully implement an Environmental Management Plan and make key changes for energy and water consumption as well as waste strategies.
