Glossop North End A.F.C. - Technology

Technology

During the 2010/11 season, Glossop followed fellow league teams in creating a ‘TV’ channel just for GNE giving easy access to all video clips and match highlights posted on the internet. http://worldtv.com/glossop_north_end_tv has a substantial library of anything involving GNE and hopes soon to possibly air live games on the site as technology advances.

At the beginning of April 2011, Glossop were the first team at their level of football to develop a mobile application, available both on iPhone and Android operating systems. This was very well received by the fans as it combined not only all the news from their own website, but also covered information from the Supporter Club blog, NWCFL and GNE Twitter, Non-league football news and match photos captured from various sites and photographers.

During the offseason of 2012, the Hillmen introduced a new official website. The new http://www.glossopnorthendafc.co.uk offers more information with previews of upcoming games, interviews with players and management, squad photos of the 1st team and reserves and much more.

Famous quotes containing the word technology:

Radio put technology into storytelling and made it sick. TV killed it. Then you were locked into somebody else’s sighting of that story. You no longer had the benefit of making that picture for yourself, using your imagination. Storytelling brings back that humanness that we have lost with TV. You talk to children and they don’t hear you. They are television addicts. Mamas bring them home from the hospital and drag them up in front of the set and the great stare-out begins.
    Jackie Torrence (b. 1944)

Primitive peoples tried to annul death by portraying the human body—we do it by finding substitutes for the human body. Technology instead of mysticism!
    Max Frisch (1911–1991)

The successor to politics will be propaganda. Propaganda, not in the sense of a message or ideology, but as the impact of the whole technology of the times.
    Marshall McLuhan (1911–1980)
