• Umma – "One of the brotherhood of prophets; a term of scorn in the Imperium, meaning any 'wild' person given to fanatical prediction."
• Usul – Fremen word, meaning "The strength of the base of the pillar;". This is Paul's secret "sietch name" (known only to his tribe) given to him upon his joining the Fremen.
