Famous quotes containing the word countries:

And it’s also an affirmation of faith in their country, its prosperity and limitless bounty. They have shops the way that lesser countries have statues.”
—Simon Hoggart (b. 1946)
“Writing fiction has become a priestly business in countries that have lost their faith.”
—Gore Vidal (b. 1925)

—Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
