Glenn Hoddle - Playing Career

Playing Career

Hoddle was born in Hayes, Hillingdon, London. He started his career at Watford having been a product of their youth academy. Hoddle also played over 45 games for his secondary school before being scouted at a school football game by a passing scout who was apparently walking his dog at the time.

Famous quotes containing the words playing and/or career:

Is this then a touch? quivering me to a new identity,
Flames and ether making a rush for my veins,
Treacherous tip of me reaching and crowding to help them,
My flesh and blood playing out lightning to strike what is hardly
    different from myself,
On all sides prurient provokers stiffening my limbs,
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)

Each of the professions means a prejudice. The necessity for a career forces every one to take sides. We live in the age of the overworked, and the under-educated; the age in which people are so industrious that they become absolutely stupid.
    Oscar Wilde (1854–1900)
