Gilbertine Order of Brazil
In about 1998 a priest of the Diocese of Sao Paulo in Brazil, Fr. Carlos Apericido Marchesani, visited the Gilbertine Oblates as he had heard about their activities and wished to visit Sempringham, having had a devotion to Saint Gilbert since a seminarian in the United States. Famous quotes containing the word order:
“Almost everywhere we find . . . the use of various coercive measures, to rid ourselves as quickly as possible of the child within usi.e., the weak, helpless, dependent creaturein order to become an independent competent adult deserving of respect. When we reencounter this creature in our children, we persecute it with the same measures once used in ourselves.”
—Alice Miller (20th century)
