G.I. Joe: Spy Troops is a 2003 direct-to-video CGI animated movie produced by Reel FX Creative Studios. Spy Troops is the first G.I. Joe movie to be released by Reel FX.
In 2003, Hasbro tried to follow Mattel’s success of the Barbie OVA movies by releasing a direct-to-video movie that tied into its own current toyline properties. Reel FX produced two G.I. Joe CGI movies. Spy Troops was first to be released, while G.I. Joe: Valor vs. Venom followed a year later. They were both sold direct-to-video, as well as offered by order through coupons enclosed with the action figures. These movies are distributed by Paramount Studios.
Famous quotes containing the words spy and/or troops:
“Living, just by itselfwhat a dirge that is! Life is a classroom and Boredoms the usher, there all the time to spy on you; whatever happens, youve got to look as if you were awfully busy all the time doing something thats terribly excitingor hell come along and nibble your brain.”
—Louis-Ferdinand Céline (18941961)
“But, where the road runs near the stream,
Oft through the trees they catch a glance
Of passing troops in the suns beam
Pennon, and plume, and flashing lance!
Forth to the world those soldiers fare,
To life, to cities, and to war!”
—Matthew Arnold (18221888)
