The following acquisitions have taken place in a short time
- A backup firm forming GFI Backup.
- Hounddog (Cloudbased monitoring)
- Katharion (Cloudbased antispam)
- Monitis (Cloud monitoring)
- TeamViewer (Remote administration)
On July 13, 2010, GFI Software widely announced the acquisition of Sunbelt Software, best known for their VIPRE antivirus and spam filter software suite. See the press release. Alex Eckelberry, Sunbelt's CEO, became the vice president and general manager of GFI's security business unit.
