George Wells (wrestler) - Later Years

Later Years

After a brief appearance in Dominic Denucci's NWF All-Star Wrestling in 1987, losing to Sgt. Jacques Goulet in a televised match on September 8, Wells would remain inactive for most of the late 1980s until his eventual retirement in 1992.

Returning to Oakland, Wells is currently one of the leading drug counselors in the San Francisco Bay area. Having suffered from drug-related issues throughout his athletic career, he primarily works with teenage drug addicts.

Famous quotes containing the word years:

In England, I was quite struck to see how forward the girls are made—a child of 10 years old, will chat and keep you company, while her parents are busy or out etc.—with the ease of a woman of 26. But then, how does this education go on?—Not at all: it absolutely stops short.
    Frances Burney (1752–1840)

Lonesome? God, no! From the day the kids are born, if it’s not one thing, it’s another. After all those years of being responsible for them, you finally get to the point where you want to scream: “Fall out of the nest already, you guys, will you? It’s time.”
—Anonymous Mother of Four. As quoted in Women of a Certain Age, by Lillian B. Rubin, ch. 2 (1979)
