George Starke - Life With The Hogs

Life With The Hogs

Prior to retiring during the years 1983 and 1984, Starke capitalized on the notoriety of the "Hogs" by bringing them together getting each of them to invest $500.00 and forming a corporation called "Super Hogs". "Super Hogs" became the first professional athletes of any sport to market themselves outside of the National Football League oversight. "Super Hogs" created a clothing line, beer company, sold various "Hogs" themes merchandise and produced the two most successful football posters of all times: (1) Hogs Night Out and (2) The Grave Yard Dogs.

Famous quotes containing the words life with, life and/or hogs:

One might feel that, at my age, I should look on life with more gravity. After all, I’ve been privileged to listen, firsthand, to some of the most profound thinkers of my day ... who were all beset by gloom over the condition the world had gotten into. Then why can’t I view it with anything but amusement?
    Anita Loos (1894–1981)

Who does not see that I have taken a road along which I shall go, without stopping and without effort, as long as there is ink and paper in the world? I cannot keep a record of my life by my actions; fortune places them too low. I keep it by my thoughts.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

Watch out w’en you’er gittin all you want. Fattenin’ hogs ain’t in luck.
    Joel Chandler Harris (1848–1908)
