    There the traveler meets, aghast,
    Sheeted memories of the past—
Shrouded forms that start and sigh
As they pass the wanderer by—
White-robed forms of friends long given,
In agony, to the earth—and heaven.
    —Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1849)

He has a nasty instinct for the exposed groin, and always puts his knee in just to stir things up.
