Famous quotes containing the words gentle and/or ben:
“O Patrick! for a hundred years
The gentle Niamh was my wife;
But now two things devour my life;
The things that most of all I hate:
Fasting and prayers.”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
“When long ago I saw her ride
Under Ben Bulben to the meet,
The beauty of her country-side
With all youths lonely wildness stirred,
She seemed to have grown clean and sweet
Like any rock-bred, sea-borne bird....”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
