Personal Life
Gennadi Karponosov studied international relations at the Public Institute Moscow. Linichuk accepted Karponosov's proposal after they retired from competition. They were married on 31 July 1981. Their very talented daughter, Anastasiya Karponosova, was born in February 1985. The couple initially lived in Moscow and then moved to the United States in the early '90s. In 2001, Karponosov was admitted to the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
