Behavior
The White-Line Gecko, is a 'display' lizard, some individuals have a bad temperament towards being held. Thus, they will try to bite handlers to get out of the grip. Their bites are strong, able to break the skin, making it a painful bite. This is in part due to being closely related to the Tokay Gecko, which have strong jaw muscles used to eat beetles and cockroaches in the wild. Some long term captives will tolerate minimal handling after a great deal of work, however, they are happiest when they can live as naturally as possible (which is without much human interaction). Like most Geckos, they can actually vocalize, either clicking hisses, chirps, or 'screams'.

Famous quotes containing the word behavior:
“Understanding child development takes the emphasis away from the childs characterlooking at the child as good or bad. The emphasis is put on behavior as communication. Discipline is thus seen as problem-solving. The child is helped to learn a more acceptable manner of communication.”
—Ellen Galinsky (20th century)
“Gaining a better understanding of how childrens minds work at different ages will allow you to make more sense of their behaviors. With this understanding come decreased stress and increased pleasure from being a parent. It lessens the frustrations that come from expecting things that a child simply cannot do or from incorrectly interpreting a childs behavior in adult terms.”
—Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
“The type of fig leaf which each culture employs to cover its social taboos offers a twofold description of its morality. It reveals that certain unacknowledged behavior exists and it suggests the form that such behavior takes.”
—Freda Adler (b. 1934)
