Sample Gaussian Matrix
This is a sample matrix, produced by sampling the Gaussian filter kernel (with σ = 0.84089642) at the midpoints of each pixel and then normalizing. Note that the center element (at ) has the largest value, decreasing symmetrically as distance from the center increases.

Famous quotes containing the words sample and/or matrix:
“The present war having so long cut off all communication with Great-Britain, we are not able to make a fair estimate of the state of science in that country. The spirit in which she wages war is the only sample before our eyes, and that does not seem the legitimate offspring either of science or of civilization.”
—Thomas Jefferson (17431826)
“The matrix is God?
In a manner of speaking, although it would be more accurate ... to say that the matrix has a God, since this beings omniscience and omnipotence are assumed to be limited to the matrix.
If it has limits, it isnt omnipotent.
Exactly.... Cyberspace exists, insofar as it can be said to exist, by virtue of human agency.”
—William Gibson (b. 1948)
