Famous quotes containing the words island and/or lights:
“They all came, some wore sentiments
Emblazoned on T-shirts, proclaiming the lateness
Of the hour, and indeed the sun slanted its rays
Through branches of Norfolk Island pine as though
Politely clearing its throat....”
—John Ashbery (b. 1927)
“Most souls, tis true, but peep out once an age,
Dull sullen prisners in the bodys cage:
Dim lights of life, that burn a length of years,
Useless, unseen, as lamps in sepulchres;”
—Alexander Pope (16881744)
