Famous quotes containing the words galway, city and/or council:

    We dreamed that a great painter had been born
    To cold Clare rock and Galway rock and thorn,
    To that stern colour and that delicate line
    That are our secret discipline
    Wherein the gazing heart doubles her might....
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

    The City is of Night; perchance of Death,
    But certainly of Night; for never there
    Can come the lucid morning’s fragrant breath
    After the dewy dawning’s cold grey air;
    James Thomson (1834–1882)
