Overview
The Galmudug State is the most centrally located area in Somalia. It is equidistant from Galkacyo (the southern part of which forms the state capital) by 750 km to Mogadishu, Hargeisa, Bossaso and Harar in Ethiopia. It is bordered to the east by the Indian Ocean, to the west by Ethiopia, to the north by the Mudug region of Puntland, and to the south by the Hiiraan region.
