The success of FutureSex/LoveSounds has had an impact to both Timberlake's and Timbaland's careers. For Timberlake, it further established his career as solo artist. He comments, "'SexyBack' was the point when people stopped asking me when *NSYNC were going to reunite and started asking what I was going to do next." Timberlake has also beefed up his fan base, gaining "hipster" fans in the wake of the album's success.
Combining the international success of Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds and Nelly Furtado's Loose, demands for Timbaland's work reportedly surged.
