Fu Jen Catholic University (traditional Chinese: 天主教輔仁大學; simplified Chinese: 天主教辅仁大学; pinyin: Tiānzhǔjiào Fǔrén Dàxué) is a co-educational pontifical catholic university run by the Divine Word Missionaries, Society of Jesus and Chinese Catholic Bishops Conference in Taiwan. Colloquially the school is known as "FǔDà" (輔大, FJU, FJCU). When Fu Jen operated in Beijing until 1952, it was known as the Catholic University of Peking.
The University was founded in 1925 by the Order of Saint Benedict and re-established in 1961. Currently Fu Jen ranked 1st in Greater China's private universities in THE–QS World University Rankings. It has earned particular distinction for its theology, philosophy, sinology, linguistics, arts, law, management, mass communication and clinical medicine programs. Its College of Management is one of only seven Taiwanese schools holding AACSB accreditation.
Fu Jen has strong ties with the Republic of China–Holy See relations, also the university has established sister-school relationships with more than 200 universities worldwide, including the UC Berkeley and Peking University. Fu Jen’s alumni are commonly referred to as "Fu Da Jen" (輔大人;) they include the former PRC's First Lady, Wang Guangmei, a number of politicians represented in the Legislative Yuan and professors at institutions such as the NTU and Harvard University.
Since 2008, the Global Leadership Program was started for students from 4 Jesuit universities in East Asia: Ateneo de Manila University in The Philippines, Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan, Sogang University in South Korea, and Sophia University in Japan, which share the common catholic sprit.
