Fresno Falcons - Joining The WCHL/merging With The ECHL

Joining The WCHL/merging With The ECHL

Following an experimental partnership with the Sunshine Hockey League in 1994-95, The Falcons became a charter member of the professional West Coast Hockey League to begin the 1995-96 season. The team was a member throughout the league's eight-year existence. During the 1997-98 season they were known as Fresno's Fighting Falcons. Fresno won the league's Taylor Cup championship for the 2001-02 season, defeating the San Diego Gulls in the finals.

Along with other active WCHL teams, the Falcons joined the ECHL after the West Coast Hockey League was absorbed by the larger league in 2003.

Famous quotes containing the words joining the, joining and/or merging:

Behold the walls of Jericho. Maybe not as thick as the ones that Joshua blew down with his trumpet, but a lot safer. See, I have no trumpet. Now just to show you my heart’s in the right place, I’ll give you my best pair of pajamas. Do you mind joining the Israelites?
    Robert Riskin (1897–1955)

When they [the American soldiers] came, they found fit comrades for their courage and their devotion.... Joining hands with them, the men of America gave the greatest of all gifts, the gift of life and the gift of spirit.
    Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924)

Adultery is the vice of equivocation.
It is not marriage but a mockery of it, a merging that mixes love and dread together like jackstraws. There is no understanding of contentment in adultery.... You belong to each other in what together you’ve made of a third identity that almost immediately cancels your own. There is a law in art that proves it. Two colors are proven complimentary only when forming that most desolate of all colors—neutral gray.
    Alexander Theroux (b. 1940)
