Fresh Wine for the Horses is former Catherine Wheel frontman Rob Dickinson's first studio album. Released in 2005, it features tracks that Dickinson wrote while a member of Catherine Wheel but never made it onto official releases, as well as new material written since the band's breakup in 2000. The album received mixed reviews from the media, but was met with enthusiastic approval by longtime fans of the band. The release was supported by a tour of small venues across the United States and Canada, where Dickinson performed intimate acoustic sets comprising both Catherine Wheel and solo material.

Famous quotes containing the words fresh, wine and/or horses:
“Remember the waterfront shack with the sign FRESH FISH SOLD HERE. Of course its fresh, were on the ocean. Of course its for sale, were not giving it away. Of course its here, otherwise the sign would be someplace else. The final sign: FISH.”
—Peggy Noonan (b. 1950)
“The men who think of superannuation at sixty-one are those whose lives have been idle, not they who have really buckled themselves to work. It is my opinion that nothing seasons the mind for endurance like hard work. Port wine should perhaps be added.”
—Anthony Trollope (18151882)
“If this bureau had a prayer for use around horse parks, it would go something like this: Lead us not among bleeding-hearts to whom horses are cute or sweet or adorable, and deliver us from horse-lovers. Amen.... With that established, lets talk about the death of Seabiscuit the other night. It isnt mawkish to say, there was a racehorse, a horse that gave race fans as much pleasure as any that ever lived and one that will be remembered as long and as warmly.”
—Walter Wellesley (Red)
