Frequency-locked loops (sometimes FLL) are used in radio, telecommunications, computers and other electronic applications to generate stable frequencies, or to recover a signal from a noisy communication channel.
They generally use the output of a frequency counter or frequency comparison device to control the tuning voltage of a voltage controlled oscillator.
