Purpose
Free Jumping is used for a variety of purposes, including starting a horse over jumps, reschooling a horse that has developed problems over jumps, evaluating a young horse's potential, or to exhibit a veteran jumper for sale. This method allows evaluation of a horse’s ability without any influence from the rider, good or bad. A trained eye can determine if the horse has natural jumping ability, a good mind, confidence, and athleticism.

Famous quotes containing the word purpose:
“I dont like to be idle; in fact, I often feel somewhat guilty unless there is some purpose to what I am doing. But spending a few hoursor a few daysin the woods, swamps or alongside a stream has never seemed to me a waste of time.... I derive special benefit from a period of solitude.”
—Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.)
“I envy neither the heart nor the head of any legislator who has been born to an inheritance of privileges, who has behind him ages of education, dominion, civilization, and Christianity, if he stands opposed to the passage of a national education bill, whose purpose is to secure education to the children of those who were born under the shadow of institutions which made it a crime to read.”
—Frances Ellen Watkins Harper (18251911)
“I dont think life is absurd. I think we are all here for a huge purpose. I think we shrink from the immensity of the purpose we are here for.”
—Norman Mailer (b. 1923)
