Free Floating (Russian: Свободное плавание, Svobodnoe plavanie) is a 2006 absurdist tale about Losers. They do not achieve, they do not try, they practically do not talk, and they do not even have sex. There is nothing to tell about them, and even if there was nobody would be interested to listen. The movie got rather contradictory reviews, ranging from the revival of great traditions of Soviet realism, to "lifeless coupling of idiots and poor roads" (referring to the famous two major problems of Russia).
There are no stars in this film. Two main characters are played by young actors Aleksandr Yatsenko and Darya Ekamasova. Directed by Boris Khlebnikov, author of Koktebel.

Famous quotes containing the words free and/or floating:
“In some unused lagoon, some nameless bay,
On sluggish, lonesome waters, anchord near the shore,
An old, dismasted, gray and batterd ship, disabled, done,
After free voyages to all the seas of earth, hauld up at last and
hawserd tight,
Lies rusting, mouldering.”
—Walt Whitman (18191892)
“People who treat other people as less than human must not be surprised when the bread they have cast on the waters comes floating back to them, poisoned.”
—James Baldwin (19241987)
