Fred Swanton
Fred Wilder Swanton (1862–1940) was a businessman who served as mayor of Santa Cruz, California from 1927 until 1933. He promoted the expansion of Santa Cruz County from a small lumber town along the Pacific Coast to a booming beach resort city. Although he established a wide variety of businesses, he never ran them successfully for more than a few years.
