Franz Xaver Schwarz - National Socialism

National Socialism

Schwarz joined the Nazi party in 1922. His NSDAP membership number was six. Schwarz participated in the failed Beer Hall Putsch of November 1923. With the re-establishment of the Nazi party in Germany on 27 February 1925, Schwarz became party member number six. On 21 March 1925 he became full-time treasurer of the Nazi party, rebuilding the financial and administrative functions. In April–May 1930 Schwarz negotiated the purchase of the party headquarters, the Brown House at 45 Brienner Straße in Munich.

Schwarz was elected to the Reichstag in 1933, representing the Franconia electoral district and continued thus to the end of the war.

Famous quotes containing the words national and/or socialism:

What do we mean by patriotism in the context of our times? I venture to suggest that what we mean is a sense of national responsibility ... a patriotism which is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.
    Adlai Stevenson (1900–1965)

Successful socialism depends on the perfectibility of man. Unless all, or nearly all, men are high-minded and clear-sighted, it is bound to be a rotten failure in any but a physical sense. Even through it is altruism, socialism means materialism. You can guarantee the things of the body to every one, but you cannot guarantee the things of the spirit to every one; you can guarantee only that the opportunity to seek them shall not be denied to any one who chooses to seek them.
    Katharine Fullerton Gerould (1879–1944)
